PURPOSE:To obtain a torsional spring having a high elastic modulus as well as a high torsional strength by forming a reinforced fiber with a part which is round in the stretched direction and a part which is wound in the compressed direction when said reinforced fiber is subjected to a torsional force and a bar-like body is twisted. CONSTITUTION:A fiber having a high elastic modulus and strength such as a carbon fiber, a boron fiber, etc. are used for a reinforcing fiber and a thermosetting resin such as an epoxy resin, a phenolic resin, etc. are used as a plastic. A bar-like body made of this fiber reinforced plastic is formed by winding, and consists of a reinforcing fiber 2 wound in a stretched direction and a reinforcing fiber 3 wound in a compressed direction when the reinforcing fibers are subjected to a torsional force and the bar-like body is twisted. Also, it is necessary that the winding angles theta of the fibers are within a range of 25-65 deg., and a torsional spring thus formed has a high elastic modulus as well as a high shear strength. |
