PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fibers, having low- and high-strength parts and capable of preventing pilling in clothes and whitening in wearing, by blending fine particles containing a specific strength reducing agent in a polyester and melt spinning the resultant blend. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles, containing a latent strength reducing agent consisting of a compound capable of exhibiting or promoting decomposition ability for a polyester, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, etc., in subjecting the polyester to treatment with hot water or chemical treatment, preferably an organic sulfonic acid (salt), amine compound or alkaline inorganic compound and individually insoluble under melt spinning condition are blended in the polyester to afford the aimed fibers, consisting of fibers without uneven thickness in the longitudinal direction and containing low-strength parts having <=2.0g/de strength and high-strength arts having >=2.5g/de strength obtained by measuring the strength distribution thereof, the above-mentioned parts being present in the fibers. |
