PURPOSE:To improve controllability of a parking brake, when it is released, while to smoothly actuate the parking brake, by constituting the parking brake such that releasing action of its braking force is performed in a desired speed by an electric motor-driven mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A brake cable 25 is pulled by depressing a brake pedal arm 24 to apply a parking brake, while a ratchet gear 23 is turned in the clockwise direction to bring up a spring against its resilient force thereafter engaged again with a worm gear 27. Accordingly, the brake pedal arm 24, which is not returned even if a foot is separated from the pedal, can hold braking force. Next, a motor 34 is turned by a switch 37 being manually actuated or interlocking to a change lever, causing the brake pedal arm 24 to turn in the counterclockwise direction by rotating the worm gear 27. And for a trouble, generated in power supply and electric circuits, a manual lever 32 is controlled so as to be pulled up. As a result, the brake pedal arm 24 enables its brake holding force to be smoothly further surely generated. |
