PURPOSE:To constitute the titled system so that only one control device is occupied for a long period because of recovery processing by continuously executing the error recovery processing by idle control devices successively. CONSTITUTION:When it is supposed that a cartridge MOVE instruction (instruction for moving a cartridge from a 'FROM' address in the device to a 'TO' address) is generated from a channel #1 to a slave device 2-1 through a control device 1-1 and an error is generated, the control device 1-1 executes the error recovery processing, but if the control device 1-1 should execute other processing and another control device 1-2 is idle status, the control device 1-2 continuously executes the error recovery processing. The continuation of the processing is executed on the basis of information stored in an exchange register 3. After the end of the error recovery processing, the control device 1-1 outputs the final report relating to the error recovery to the host device because the control device 1-1 receives the MOVE instruction. |
