1521408 Porous sintered articles EXPERIMENTAL N I INST METALLOREZHUSCHIKH STANKOV 20 Aug 1976 [8 Dec 1975] 34887/76 Heading C7D [Also in Division B3] A porous sintered metallic material has a porosity of 15-25%, a pore size of 10-40Á and an oxygen content of 0À01-0À1%. The material is used as, or used in the manufacture of, tool-electrodes for spark-erosion machining. The sintered material is obtained by charging the mould with powder, e.g. of oxygen-containing Cu, passing a reducing gas, e.g. H 2 , through the powder heated to 0À3-0À5 of its melting temperature on the Centigrade scale, and then heating to 0À6-0À9 of its melting temperature and compacting. |
