PURPOSE:To obtain proper printing pressure to a platen unit side, by changing the shape of a spork part corresponding to the distance of the type in a type part from the center of a type wheel. CONSTITUTION:The type side pedestal 4b and type 4a provided to the leading end part of a spork part 3 are respectively contacted with a platen unit 8a under pressure. Now, when the length of the spork 3 is represented by (l), the thickness thereof by (h) and the width thereof by (b), the force F applied to a type part and the angle theta of deflection of the spork are represented by formula theta=bl<2>F/bh<3>E (wherein E is vertical modulus of elasticity). If material quality and the spork length (l) are made constant, theta=KF/bh<3> holds and, by adjusting the width (b) of the spork and the thickness (h) of the spork, the angle theta of deflection of the spork to constant pressure can be altered.
