PURPOSE:To enable the continuous feed of paper, by providing a large-capacity paper feeder having a paper conveyor insertable into the cassette insertion opening of the body of a conventional imaging apparatus of the paper cassette insertion type and by only inserting the paper conveyor into the cassette insertion opening. CONSTITUTION:A paper feeder comprises a large-capacity paper housing section 1 composed of a vertically movable rest 5, on which a large amount of paper is stacked, and of a paper feed mechanism including a paper feed roller 40 for sending out the stacked sheets of paper one by one from the uppermost one, and a one-sheet conveyance and stand-by section 2 including a conveying base 65 fittable into the paper cassette insertion opening of the body of an imaging apparatus. The base 65 can be swung about the shaft 56 of the conveying roller 58 of the paper feed mechanism. A conveying roller 68a, which cooperates with the paper feed roller of the body of the imaging apparatus, is provided at the upper front portion of the base 65. When a paper feed action is performed by the paper feed means of the body of the imaging apparatus, one sheet of paper is automatically sent out of the housing section 1 and waits in the stand-by section 2. |
