In a lip sealing ring with, clamped into a housing, a sealing disc made of polytetrafluoroethylene or a material of related type, the elastic intermediate layer between sealing disc and housing consists of at least two annular elastomeric supports arranged with a spacing from one another. In this manner, the clamping-in forces of the sealing disc can be reduced considerably to achieve an optimum static seal in the clamping-in region, the sealing disc itself is protected from plastic flow under the action of pressure, and the components themselves can, if necessary, be made less solid and thus less extensive. <IMAGE>
