The invention relates to the use of a pharmaceutical composition which contains as active substance eggs or the substance of eggs which have an iodine content of 300 to 5000 mu g of iodine per egg to slow down ageing in humans. The eggs are obtained by administering to eggs of laying birds iodine compounds and/or a seaweed in an amount which exceeds their normal requirement for iodine. Continued intake of the composition is effective in slowing down ageing. |
