PURPOSE:To make corrosion behavior or the like preventable, by mixing resol type phenolic resin, a foaming agent, a foam-shaping agent, an acid hardening agent and an abrasive grain and, when this mixture is foamed and hardened, using volatile acid as the acid hardening agent. CONSTITUTION:Phenol, formalin and caustic soda as a catalyzer are all charged into a four-neck flask, making this mixture react and, after being neutralized, it is decompressed and dehydrated, thus resol type phenolic resin is formed up. Next, a foaming agent, an interfacial active agent, silicon carbide as an abrasive grain and volatile acid are all added to this resin and, after being stirred and poured into a mold, this mixture resin is foamed and ahrdened, thus a phenolic resin, porous elastic grindstone is formed up.
