PURPOSE:To convert a binarization picture such as a diagram or a character into a clear binarization video signal and record by writing adjustment data for binarizing video information in an index signal recorded together with the video signal. CONSTITUTION:The video signal outputted from a video processing circuit 3 is impressed to an adder circuit 5 and at the same time, impressed to a binarization circuit 8 and a changeover switch 8b and the output of the binarization circuit can be monitored by an electron view finder 9. In this state, the binarization video can be most suitably adjusted by a binarization picture adjustment device 8a. The binarization adjustment data outputted from a binarization adjustment data forming circuit 8d is inputted to an ID signal generating circuit 8e to form ID data and modulated so as to be fully recorded and reproduced by an ID signal spectrum. The writing of the binarization adjustment data to an user's area is carried out only at the time of the binarization mode of the mode changeover signal 8c.
