PURPOSE:To smoothly take up an ink film and prevent an ink film feeding motor from being operated under an overload, by feeding a transfer recording paper located at a transferring part to the position of a releasing means when a power source is switched ON. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 6 for transferring a heat-fusible ink onto a transfer recording paper 1 is provided at a transferring part A. At a position spaced from the transferring part A by a predetermined distance to the forward side with respect to a feeding direction (b) of an ink film, a releasing roller 7 is provided, and at a position spaced from the roller 7 by a predetermined distance to the forward side, a sensor 8 for detecting the film is provided. With a power source is switched ON, the paper 1 is fed in the direction of an arrow (a), irrespective of whether the preceding OFF state has been caused by switching OFF the power source during printing. A feed quantity of the paper 1 is controlled by a paper feed line number counter (not shown), the content of which is zero when the leading end of the paper 1 is located at the transfer ring part A. When the leading end of the paper 1 reaches a releasing position B, the content of the counter reaches a preset count, and this condition is consid ered to be a result of switching OFF the power source after normal printing. |
