PURPOSE:To quickly detect abnormality by integrating a current flowing in a voice coil during a seek action and stopping control as a seek action abnormality if the integrated value exceeds a reference value. CONSTITUTION:A conversion circuit 2 is sort of ROM, and converts data on the number of cylinders to be seeked 7 into a corresponding limit data 9, while a D/A converter circuit 3 converts said data 9 being digital data into an analog signal 10. After a rectifier circuit 4 rectifies a voice coil current signal 8, an integrator 5 integrates said signal 8 until a seek action ends. A comparator circuit 6 compares the analog signal for limits with the integration value signal 11 until the seek action ends. If the integration value signal 11 exceeds the analog signal 10 for limits, the circuit 6 generates an abnormality signal 12, which spots the control of the seek action. Thus the abnormality of any seek actions can be quickly detected. |
