PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of an abnormal sound at a reproducing sound by setting a pointer independently from the result of the error correction of a PCM signal in accordance with the decoding condition of a decoder to decode the error detecting code of an additive code or an error correcting code. CONSTITUTION:An interpolating circuit 38 executes the interpolating action by using a pointer attendant with respective words of a PCM signal from an error correcting circuit 37 usually, and independant of this, the interpolating action is forcibly executed by an interpolating control signal generated from an interpolating control circuit 49. When the amplitudes of the reproducing signals of a magnetic head 2A and a magnetic head 2B come to be smaller, the number of times of deciding that there is no error as the result of the error detection of an error detecting circuit 44, is decreased to (n) or below, the reproducing signal of the magnetic head 2A and 2B comes to be both (n) or below and the output of a number detecting circuit 47 comes to be '1'. Thus, the interpolating control signal to set a pointer forcibly occurs from an interpolating control circuit 49 to both of the reproducing signal of the magnetic heads 2A and 2B. Thus, the occurrence of the abnormal reproducing sound can be prevented without fail.
