PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive purging mechanism simple to operate, by connecting a pump driving lever and a nozzle cap lever by a cap opener lever provided with friction resistance utilizing the angle of friction. CONSTITUTION:When a pump driving member 9 is moved toward and arrow 17 manually by a user in an unused state of a recording apparatus, a cap opener lever 14 and a nozzle cap lever 12 are respectively rotated around rotary shafts 15, 16 toward arrows 18, 19 to be separated from an ink jet nozzle 10. At the same time, because the aforementioned pump driving member 9 drives a pump, ink flows in a sub-tank 5 through an ink supply tube 6 to raise the pressure of the sub-tank 6. The ink forces the air bubbles and dust present in the ink flow passage in an ink jet head 3 to discharge the same from the ink jet nozzle 10. Herein, if the user releases his hand, a nozzle cap slowly closes by the frictional resistance between the pump driving lever and the cap opener lever. |
