PURPOSE:To simply, strongly, and positively join metal tubes by inserting a joining end of a metal tube onto a joining end of another metal tube, fitting a drawing die onto the outside of the joining end, and rotating and moving the drawing die. CONSTITUTION:A joining end 2A of a soft aluminum tube 2 is inserted onto the joining surface of a joining end 1A of a hard copper tube 1. It is preferable to form a rugged part 3 on the joining surface of the end 1A. A drawing die 5 is inserted onto the outside of the tube 2 in the opposite side to the joining end 2A and the tubes 1 and 2 are fixed by fixers 4 and 4, respectively. Then, the die 5 is rotated in the direction of the arrow (a) and is axially moved in the direction of the white arrow (b) toward the tube 1. The joining end 2A of the tube 2 is compressed by the die 5 and is softened by the frictional heat caused by rotation of the die 5; the inside surface of the end 2A is press fitted to grooves 3A of the rugged part 3 and is generated molecular diffusion, so that both tubes 1 and 2 are strongly joined.
