PURPOSE:To shorten a processing time as compared with the processing time of an nXm spatial filter by employing the combinational processing of small- area spatial filters in an optional shape, for example, consisting of 3X3 areas. CONSTITUTION:Spatial filters which have, for example, about 3X3 areas are arranged in an optional space to constitute a spatial filter in an optional shape, the respective small-area spatial filters are put in operation through a processor, and output results are are shifted to object picture elements of the spatial filter in the optional shape and summed up. This method is employed shorten the processing time at the ratio (area of spatial filter in optional shape) : (area of nXm spatial filters including it) as compared with the processing time of the nXm spatial filters. |
