The invention relates to a device for supplying electrical power to a low-power fluorescent tube. This device comprises an oscillator 20 producing the supply current to the tube 1 from a DC voltage 11 and is provided with a transformer 22 in the secondary circuit of which the tube 1 is mounted. The transformer 22 has a ratio of the primary and secondary windings 23a, 23b, 24 such that it constitutes a matcher of the output impedance of the oscillator to the input impedance of the fluorescent tube. The invention enables the fluorescent tube to be supplied from a battery. <IMAGE>
