PURPOSE:To make a recording medium hardly susceptible to injuries even after long-term use by using a material having prescribed hardness to form a recording medium feed mechanism part in contact with the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium 1 such as magnetic card is moved by the contact of driving rollers 40 and press rollers 41 of the feed mechanism with the recording medium 1, by which the recording and reproduction by the medium 1 via a head are executed. The rollers 40, 41 which contact the medium 1 are formed of the prescribed material and the hardness thereof is made >=1,000 Vickers hardness. The rollers 40, 41 and the medium 1 are made hardly susceptible to the injuries even after long-term use. The recording and reproduction stable for a long period of time are thus executed.
