PURPOSE:To prevent multifeeding by selecting the position of a nip roller in such a manner as to press a sheet material to the nip roller to be bent and check the counting of plural sheet materials. CONSTITUTION:A torque motor 160 forming a sheet material transport mechanism 158 is fixed above an adsorbing disc to an apparatus body, and the first gear 164 is supported on a driving shaft 162 extended from the motor 160. An L-shaped oscillating arm 170 is engaged with a shaped oscillating arm 170 is engaged with a shaft 168 supporting the second gear 166 engaged with the first gear 164. A roller 174 is rotatably supported on the short end portion of the oscillating arm 170, and a pressing portion 178 for operating a limit switch 176 is formed thereon. On the other hand, a spring 180 is engaged with the long end portion of the oscillating arm 170. The roller 174 of the oscillating arm 170 is pressed to a sheet adsorbed and held by the adsorbing disc to bend the sheet, so that multifeeding of sheets can be prevented.
