PURPOSE:To feed small-sized recording paper by use of a paper feed cassette by providing a spring member adapted to check the operation of a lifting lever of a cassette mount portion an lift up recording paper toward a paper feed unit in a paper feed cassette. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed cassette 30 for small-sized recording paper is provided with a window piercing the base portion of a frame 31, which is closed and with a coiled spring 35 as a spring member, which is disposed in a space with a receive plate 32. When the paper feed cassette 30 is mounted on a copy apparatus 40, the forward end portion of a lifting lever 41 is pressed by the base of the frame 31 to check the operation of the lifting lever 41, and recording paper P on the receive plate 32 is brought into contact with the lower surface of a feed roller 42 by action of the coiled spring 35. Accordingly, small-sized recording paper can be automatically fed by use of a paper feed cassette.
