A fuel pressure regulator (l0) has a multi-faceted extruded base (l2) that allows the outlet (56) from the fuel pressure regulator to be oriented in any of six different directions. A fuel body (84) has a projecting snout (82) and a fuel passage (86) extending through the snout, and the inlet (48) to the fuel pressure regulator plugs directly onto the snout; the fuel passage thereby supplies fuel to the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel pressure regulator thereby maintains the desired fuel pressure in the passage.
