PURPOSE:To attain a stable recording without data omission by outputting an image forming code signal and a clock to a printer part from a control part. CONSTITUTION:With the aid of an output detected by a paper size detector 3, a value in accordance with the paper size is preset to a counter 4 in a printer input part 2 included in a printer part in such a way that a laser beam generated by an optical detector 5 uses the detection output at the time of irradiating the left side of a photosensitive drum as a load signal. The counter 4 is counted down by the clock from an oscillator 6. A horizontal synchronizing signal generator 7 such a monostable multivibrator as to be triggered by the zero output of the counter 4 generates a horizontal synchronizing signal to control the address counter 9 of the control part 1. After the counted clock of the counter 9 becomes an address, an image code is read out of an image memory 10 and supplied to an input part 2 together with a clock from the oscillator 6 through a latch circuit 11, whereby the way the laser beam scans a photosensitive body is controlled. Even if paper sizes are different and a distance between the control part and the printer input part is great, the stable laser beam recording is carried out without data omission.
