PURPOSE:To obtain polyaniline with wide range of electrochemical activity, suitable for electrode material for fuel cell, optical conversion device, biosensor, etc., by modification of original polyaniline with an enzyme. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyaniline can be obtained by modification of original polyaniline (pref. prepared by reduction and/or alcohol treatment of a polyaniline made by electrolytic polymerization) with an enzyme (e.g. gluoxidase). Said modification is preferably such that 1.0X10<14>-6.6X10<22> units of an enzyme (per g of the original polyaniline) is immobilized by clathration.
