PURPOSE:A magnetic fluid, containing fine iron particles, surfactant consisting of a phospholipid and medium consisting of a mixture of a paraffinic with olefinic hydrocarbons and having improved dispersibility and high saturation magnetization. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic fluid containing (A) fine iron particles, (B) a surfactant consisting of a phospholipid preferably purified lecithin in an amount of, e.g. about 10-30wt% based on the component (A), (C) a hydrocarbon based medium consisting of a paraffinic with olefinic hydrocarbons, preferably 7-22C kerosine, etc., in an amount of 100-4,700wt% based on the component (A). Furthermore, an antioxidant, e.g. tocopherol, etc., is preferably added. |
