PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material which uses a diphenylalkene derivative as a coupler and can form a developed color image capable of being fixed and being read by an OCR having a reading wavelength region in an infrared region, by providing a thermal recording layer comprising a diazonium salt and a compound of a specified formula on a base. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer comprising a diazonium salt and at least one compound of general formula I is provided on a base. In formula I, each of R1-R8 is hydrogen, a halogen, alkyl or alkoxyl, R9 is hydrogen or an alkyl. Each of X and Y is -OR10 or formula II, and (n) is 0 or 1 (wherein each of R10-R12 is hydrogen, an alkyl, alicyclic group, aryl or aralkyl, which may be substd. by a halogen, alkyl or alkoxyl; R11 and R12 may form a heterocyclic ring with each other or with the adjacent benzene ring). |
