PURPOSE:To omit the simulation of repetition by retrieving a memory or calculating based on an inputted circuit diagram, specifications decided by the design specification and circuit characteristics to decide a proper design value within the specification and outputting a mask pattern layout based on the design value. CONSTITUTION:Circuit design data 1' is the description of data such as specified design specification, a circuit diagram and circuit parameter. A characteristic specification memory 11 stores tentatively the specification of the design characteristics and control designation, and a characteristic parameter memory 12 stores data being the relation between the circuit design parameter and the circuit characteristics in advance. A parameter processing memory 13 stores a program applying arithmetic processing of a relation between the circuit design parameter and the circuit characteristics. A program memory 14 is a memory having software for a series of the titled system and a design data memory 15 is an auxiliary memory storing the data and arithmetic operation result such as circuit connection description, circuit parameter and pattern layout.
