PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copolymer of a narrow MW distribution and excellent low-temperature stability, containing bonds of a specified two kinds of repeating units. CONSTITUTION:A p-trialkoxysilylstyrene obtained by reacting a mixture (molar ratio of 0.9-10) of a tetraalkoxysilane with p-vinylphenylmagnesium chloride at -70-+100 deg.C for 1 min-25hr in a solvent is reacted with at -30 deg.C or below for 0.1-20hr in the presence of an anionic polymerization initiator in, optionally, a solvent to obtain a living polymer of a number-average MW of 500-500,000, comprising repeating units (A) of formula I (wherein R is a lower alkyl). this polymer is living-copolymerized with a styrene compound of formula II (wherein R' is H or CH3) to obtain the titled copolymer containing bonds of component A with repeating unit (B) of formula III, such as A-B, A-B-A and B-A-B at a molar ratio (A/B) of 5-95/95-5 and having a number-average MW of 500-500,000.
