PURPOSE:To obtain a good copy image free of white mottles by forming a protective layer composed of a chalcogenide organic composite material transparent in the necessary wavelength region on the surface of an insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is composed of a cylindrical substrate 1 made of Al or the like, an amorphous silicon photoconductive layer 2 formed on the surface of the substrate 1, the insulating layer 3 formed on the surface of the layer 2, and the protective layer 4 containing the chalcogenide organic composite material transparent in the wavelength region of the light to be used for the copying process formed on the surface of the layer 3. Said composite material can be easily prepared by evaporating the chalcogenide element at the same time as plasma polymerization in a reaction vessel, mixing the chalcogenide hydride, or the like method, thus permitting a good copy image free from white mottles to be obtained. |
