PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copolymer by high-pressure radical polymerization, containing each specific amount of ethylene and allyl (meth)acrylate units, having particular properties, with markedly improved crosslinkability, useful as electrical insulation materials, crosslinking expansion materials, etc. CONSTITUTION:Relevant monomers are brought to high-pressure radical polymerization in a vessel- or tube-type reactor in the presence of normally, free-radical catalyst and chain transfer agent and, if needed, auxiliary under a pressure 500-4,000 (pref. 1,000-3,500)kg/cm<2> at 50-400 (pref. 100-350) deg.C to obtain the objective novel copolymer constituted by 98.0-99.995mol% of ethylene unit and 0.005-2mol% of allyl (meth)acrylate unit with a melt index 0.05-100g/10min and density 0.900-0.950g/cm<3>. |
