Mirror tracking system for coelostats

In order to be able to use the mirror tracking system not only to track a slowly moving object but also to compensate for the essentially higher-frequency image disturbances caused by the so-called image motion, at least one of the two deflecting mirrors (3, 5) is of lightweight design. The deflecting mirror (3, 5) is preferably formed by an aluminium honeycomb structure which is covered on both sides by means of a bonded layer made from carbon fibre reinforced plastic. The reflection layer of the mirror can consist of a glass ceramic material. Piezoelectric oscillators are used to introduce the higher-frequency compensation movements. <IMAGE>
