PURPOSE:To suppress the speed rise of the pinch roll of the case of its bite release less by outputting with operation the current variation pattern signal by the torque variation of the case of the material biting release and by overlapping this signal on the speed reference. CONSTITUTION:A roll speed compensating device 30 is provided in addition to the speed control circuit of the motor 6 for driving a pinch roll. The pattern signal of the current variation corresponding to the variation in the load torque of the pinch roll of the case of the bite release of a rolling stock by a rolling mill is outputted by operating by a current arithmetic circuit 31. This signal is converted into the signal of the kind conformed to the speed reference by a conversion circuit 32 and overlapped on the speed reference VREF via a switch SW2. Since, therefore, the current of the motor 6 varies quickly according to the added signal the speed rise of the pinch roll of the case of the biting can be suppressed less and the coil diameter can be maintained constantly. |
