PURPOSE:To obtain an optical fiber holding spacer which facilitates the peeling removal of a spiral coating layer in connecting operation by adjusting the surface temperature of a primary coating layer and forming a secondary coating layer at its outer periphery by extrusion, and coupling them in a separable state thereafter. CONSTITUTION:A light tensile force wire A uses a single steel wire which has thickness corresponding to required tension characteristics, etc., or a metallic wire such as a steel strand, and further an FRP wire material formed by binding fibers for reinforcement with a curing resin material, and the primary coating layer B is formed of thermoplastic resin which can be molded by extrusion at the outer periphery of the high tensile strength wire. Then, the element wire where this primary coating is formed is run through a die for secondary coating which has plural spiral grooves extending lengthwise and the surface temperature of the primary coating layer B is so adjusted that the primary coating layer B and secondary coating layer B are separable thereafter. Consequently, when cables are connected, the secondary coating layer C is easily peeled off and the remaining coating layer B is easily removed. |
