Filter made up of a series of trays (1a, 1b and 1c) made of refractory material, optionally reinforced, for example with the aid of glass fibre or cloth, which are superposed, being separated from each other in their middle parts by empty spaces (6) and having holes or perforations (3), the holes or perforations of a tray being arranged quincuncially in relation to the holes or perforations of the adjacent trays, so as to form chicanes.
