PURPOSE:To produce magnetic powder excellent in magnetic characteristics by bringing the iron oxide particles which are obtained by heating and dehydrating iron oxyhydroxide powder into contact with a compd. of P, Si, B, Al, Cr, Ca, etc., and adsorbing or depositing these and thereafter heat-treating these. CONSTITUTION:The iron oxide particles having the slitlike micropores are formed by heating and dehydrating iron oxyhydroxide powder at about <=250 deg.C temp. Then the above-mentioned iron oxide particles are treated by an soln. dissolved with one or more kinds of the compd. of P, Si, B, Al, Cr and Ca, etc., or brought into contact with the vapor of the above-mentioned compd. Thereby the above-mentioned compd. is adsorbed or deposited in the micropores of the iron oxide particles so as to occupy about >=10% volume thereof. Thereafter the iron oxide particles are heated and reduced or oxidized after reduction. Thereby the magnetic iron oxide powder or magnetic metallic iron powder is obtained wherein the above-mentioned compd. is incorporated in the inside of the powdery particles in a slitlike state and parallel and locally distributed. |
