PURPOSE:To improve the rectifying ability by dividing a carbon brush into two(2) wafers and by putting an insulating sheet between the wafers. CONSTITUTION:A carbon brush 1 is equipped with divided two(2) wafers 2 and 2', between which an insulating sheet 3 such as Nomex paper which has elasticity. The upper end of this carbon brush 1 is held by a brush holder 6 and the lower end of it is contacted with a commutator. The upper end 4 of the insulating sheet 3 is bent like a hook and by providing a groove 5 to a wafer 2' and inserting the upper end 4 to the groove 5, the insulating sheet 3 can be prevented from slipping off.
