PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of an oscillatory wave motor without giving bad influence to travelling wave, by a method wherein a plurality of rotation stopping members for a vibrator are arranged at a prescribed distance with respect to wave length of the travelling oscillatory wave. CONSTITUTION:A moving body 17 with a collar 17a and a rotary cylinder 6 are coupled integrally through a rubber ring 18 by a pin 19. The rotary cylinder 16 is rotated integrally with the moving body 17 by travelling oscillatory wave generated in a vibrator 15. An electrostrictive element 14 subjected to polarization processing with phase difference in plurality is contacted with the vibrator 15. A plurality of rotation stopping members 50 for stopping rotation of the electrostrictive element 14 are arranged so that the distance between them becomes other than nlambda/2 (n; integer) with respect to the wave length lambdaof the travelling oscillatory wave. |
