The invention relates to lagged pipes for transporting a fluid at high pressure and high temperature. On the periphery of the heat-carrying tube 1 centring rods 6 are provided about which the insulating sheath 7, 2, 8 is held. It is separated from the tube 1 by a thin annular strip of air and can thus slide longitudinally on the tube 1 when expansions come into play. In addition, the sheath 7, 2, 8 is welded in sealed fashion about the heat-carrying tube 1. Application: lagged pipes which can be buried directly in the ground, without previously constructing inspection channels; urban heating networks. <IMAGE>
