<p>A power train for a cutting device (1) includes a rotary cutting tool (47) for cutting or abrading pavement and the like. A prime mover (1) powers the cutting tool. The prime mover has a crankshaft connected to a shaft extension member (9) and a first pulley (11) is provided on said shaft extension member. A jack shaft (29) is mounted on the cutting device for transmitting power from the prime mover to the tool. A second pulley (27) is provided on the jack shaft and a belt (3) frictionally interconnects the first and second pulleys. A first gear (39) is mounted on the jack shaft and a drive shaft (37) is provided on the cutting device for driving the tool. A second gear (41) is mounted on the drive shaft and a toothed belt (45) engages the first and second gears for positively transmitting power from the jack shaft to the drive shaft.</p> |
