A system for transmitting several types of information data is specified which differ from one another with respect to amount and which in each case correspond to a prescribed amount of information signal. This system has a first coding device for coding the several types of information data and a second coding device for predictively coding these data, the times of output of the output signals of the first and of the second coding device being controlled in such a manner that the amount of the information data coded by means of the first coding device is made equal for each of the several types of information data.
