摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device having large tilt angle of a liquid crystal molecule with a low production cost in a mass production method by forming an orientated layer with a specific coupling agent made of a quaternary ammonium type alkoxysilane. CONSTITUTION:The orientated film is composed of the quaternary ammonium type alkoxysilane shown by the formula. Namely, the oriented film is formed by treating it with the quaternary ammonium type alkoxysilane in which among four molecular groups, one of the alkoxy groups remains as it is, and another 3mol groups have each different molecular length of an org. functional group, and large stereoisomerism of the molecule. Thus, as the uniform layer having an angle and a directional property is control-formed simply on the surface of the substrate, the tilt angle of the liquid crystal molecule can be controlled in a range of 0-30 deg.. Even if the twist angle of the liquid crystal molecule is >90 deg., the stabilized uniform orientation is obtd.</p>
