PURPOSE:To prevent the stealing of a software and to manage the using condition of the software by providing a means to detect the presence and absence of the software at a software storing rack and a software reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:When a disk is removed from a disk storing rack 3A, a disk detecting circuit 11A detects this. Next, when the storing of the disk is not detected 6A by a video disk player 2A, the counting action of a timer circuit 12A is started, after the set time, an alarm is generated and the stealing is prevented. On the other hand, even when the disk is removed from the rack 3A, the disk is detected by the disk detecting circuit 6A of the player 2A, and then, the counting action of the timer circuit 12A is reset. The signal of the detecting circuit 11A of the rack 3A is inputted to a central display panel part 5, the condition whether or not the disk is removed from the rack 3A, is displayed and a controller can know the using condition of the disk.
