A method of fastening a tube (1), passing through a hole in a wall, to the wall (6) by resistance welding. The tube (1) is made of copper and the wall (6) of iron or steel. The tube (1) has a collar (2), the end face (7) of which corresponds to the wall surface (8). Essentially two-dimensional contact is therefore obtained from the start of welding. This leads to a tight and mechanically sound joint. <IMAGE>
