The invention describes a trolley, in particular a shopping trolley (1) which is equipped with a coupling part (5). With the aid of this coupling part (5), the trolley (1) can be coupled in such a manner to a positionally fixed collection point (43) or to an identical trolley (1) which is likewise equipped with a coupling part (5) and is situated in front so that the two trolleys (1) are pushed one into the other. A trolley (1) can only be uncoupled by depositing a coin which is inserted into the coupling part (5) of the rear trolley (1). On returning this trolley (1) the coin deposited earlier on is given back after the coupling procedure. It has proven disadvantageous that in known systems shearing forces which occur when pushing a line of such trolleys (1) are conducted over the coupling parts and hence damage may occur to the coupling parts (5). The present invention avoids this disadvantage in that there is provided on the coupling part (5) a locking bar (15) which can be changed in its position and, with two trolleys (1) coupled together, then engages behind part of the trolley (1) in front without making contact when the two trolleys (1) are fully pushed one into the other. <IMAGE>
