PURPOSE:To make it possible to realize steady and powerful self-suction operation by repeating an operation for elevating the vacuum degree in a suction chamber by the volume of water which moved from a scroll chamber and a suction chamber to a discharge chamber by the intermittent operation of an impeller so as to eliminate air inside a suction water pipe to suck water. CONSTITUTION:An operation for elevating the vacuum degree of a suction chamber 8 by the volume of water which moved from a scroll chamber 2 and a suction chamber 8 to a discharge chamber 14 is repeated by executing the intermittent operation of an impeller 3, that is, by opening or closing, by means of a switch, the power source of a motor for driving a rotary shaft 5 or by providing a clutch between a motor shaft and a rotary shaft 5 to perform intermittent operation by its engagement or disengagement. Air inside a suction water pipe leading to a suction water port 11 is thus eliminated to such water. Hereby the discharge speed of air inside the suction water pipe becomes far speedy as compared with the former method for circulating self-sucked water, consequently always steady and powerful self-sucking operation can be gotten.
