PURPOSE:To increase the liquid-leakage resistance of a sealed battery by providing a chromium oxide layer on a part of the metal case so that the layer touches the sealing member. CONSTITUTION:A battery case 1 consists of the two parts of a positive-side case 1a and a negative-side case 1b, and an annular sealing member 3 is interposed between the cases 1a and 1b. After a generation element 2 is installed in the case 1, the battery is sealed with the sealing member 3, thus a battery is constituted. A chromium oxide layer 6 is provided in interfaces between the member 3 and the cases 1a and 1b (especially on the case 1b). As the former chromium oxide layer 6, Cr2O3 is preferable. The layer 6 is preferred to be formed by plating. |
