摘要 PURPOSE:To manufacture TiNi alloy wires or plates at a low cost, by mixing powdered Ti and powdered Ni, by subjecting the resulting mixture to compacting and sintering, and by subjecting the sintered compact to plastic working into a specific vacuum ratio and then to HIP treatment to form a high-density alloy material. CONSTITUTION:The powdered Ti (sponge Ti powder, etc.) and the powdered Ni (powder of reduced Ni, etc.) are blended in prescribed percentage and mixed sufficiently, and the powder mixture is subjected to compacting by cold compression molding or other methods and then to sintering in vacuum or in an inert gas at a temp. approximately between 900 deg.C and the melting point of the alloy. Subsequently, the TiNi sintered material is subjected to cold or hot plastic working by swaging, etc., so that vacuum ratio is >=85%. At this time, it is preferable that the draft is regulated to about 10-50%. The sintered material increased in vacuum ratio is directly subjected to HIP treatment to be formed into high-density alloy material, which is formed into wires or plates by the conventional method. In this way, the advantages of method of sintering powder mixture are drawn to the maximum, and TiNi alloy wires and plates can be obtained at a low cost.
