The device comprises at least one screen (6) component with an internal hollow chamber. The chamber is fitted in the high temp. zone of the combustion chamber at a distance from the hearth (1), and its area extends crossways to the direction of the forwardly flowing gases. This area corresponds to that of the mouth of the gas outlet channel (5), and between it and the surrounding chamber walls leaves free passages for gas. The screen, on its side facing the high temp. zone adjacent to the grate, has a large number of air expelling apertures (8). The apertures allows air to slow from the screen interior which a connected to an air source, towards the combustion gases above the grate. |
