PURPOSE:To manufacture of a composite cast body being well-balanced and having high fiber density, by mixing an inorganic fibrous material granulated into pills into a molten Al, by putting the resulting mixed molten metal into a cylindrical mold, and by pressurizing the above melt by the use of a core to squeeze the molten Al. CONSTITUTION:Fibrous flocks 7 composed of the inorganic fibrous material previously granulated into pills (carbonaceous material with about 0.1-3mm grain size) is blended with the molten Al 8 in prescribed ratio, which is held in the cylindrical mold 1 made of cast iron. Before the mixed molten metal 6 is solidified, the cup-shaped core 4 made of cast iron having pores 3 with about 0.3-3mm diameter in the base 2 and formed so as to slide along the internal surface of the mold 1 is inserted into the mold 1. This core 4 is pressed into the mixed molten metal 6 by the use of a pressurizing means 5 to a prescribed depth (d). Therefore, the fibrous flocks 7 in the mixed molten metal 6 are formed into compressed state, and a part of the molten Al 8 is squeezed via the pores 3 of the core 4 into a hollow 9 of the core 4. The the mixed molten metal 6 in the mold 1 is solidified, so that composite cast body containing the inorganic short fibers 7 well-balancedly in Al can be obtained.
