PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance useful as an anticoagulant of heparin, a drug for sustaining medicinal effects of insulin, an enzyme stabilizer and an antibiotic stabilizer in high purity and in high yield, by extracting milt of fish containing protamine with a mineral acid salt and cooling the extracted solution. CONSTITUTION:Milt of prtamine-containing fish (e.g. herring, salmon, trout, mackerel, etc.) is extracted with a mineral acid and the extracted solution is cooled preferably to 2-12 deg.C to precipitate and collect the aimed protamine mineral acid salt. 6-15wt% aqueous solution of sulfuric acid is preferable as the dilute mineral acid. The treatment time is preferably 20-30 deg.C.
